The Korean Ministry of Education carried out an assessment of teachers, rate of retention, employment rate and management satisfaction and Woosuk university performed well. The university received the highest level of evaluation‘A’across the stated criteria.
A number of scholarships including what follow below are awarded annually by the University on the basis of applicants’ academic and other achievements and potential. Also on offer is an array of bursaries that take account of applicants’ financial circumstances. To ensure maximum consideration, it is imperative that students are knowledgeable of the specific requirements and deadlines associated with the scholarships or bursaries they are interested in. General Scholarships for International Students
This scholarship is granted to the international students newly entering as first-year students or transferring from other university, on the condition that they and their parents do not hold Korean citizenship. As far as they stay in good academic standing with the GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 5.0 scale, recipients continue to have their tuition discounted up to 30 per cent.
General Scholarships for Exchange Students
This scholarship applies only to the exchange students from global partner universities. Terms and amount of the scholarship to be awarded are prescribed on the agreement with their respective home universities.
Academic Excellence Scholarships
This scholarship, worth between KRW 1 to 1.5 million per term, is granted to those who earn a GPA score of 4.25 or higher on a 5.0 scale.
Merit Scholarships
This scholarship is designed to appreciate those students who demonstrate academic, athletic or artistic merit, in addition to special interests. On the recommendation of the head of department or faculty, or the dean of college, those who rank in the top three in publically recognised national contests are considered for the award.
Work-Study Scholarships
This scholarship is designed to appreciate those students who demonstrate academic, athletic or artistic merit, in addition to special interests. Community Outreach Scholarships
The scholarship is intended for students in good academic standing who are making a valuable contribution to their community in some way. Candidates are expected to demonstrate outstanding academic performance, leadership and community involvement.
